Because stock
trading is not
a game
The
world of stock trading is worth exploring. Stock
trading for me is not day trading, and not buy and hold through ups and
downs investing. For me stock trading is swing trading, also
called momentum trading. I like to buy stocks when I think
they'll have a run up for days or weeks, and sell them when I think
that run has ended (or didn't happen).
I like
to increase my odds of success by
selecting stock from companies that are doing well, so I want simple
ways to judge the fundamentals
of companies.
There
are many trading books available, and I suggest reading as many
as you can find in your local library, or buying a few books (not in
your library) that are heavily recommended (hint, read the Amazon.com
user reviews). I show some book ideas on the book page.
The
trading setups are meant to show how to interpret various signals
and indicators, and
how to reach decisions. Screenshots come from TC2007. I recommend
using a handful
of indicators, learning the significance of each, and looking for
situations where all (or most) of the indicators point to a good, high
probability place
to enter a trade.
