QUESTIONS

Artist Accommodations

Visual artists receive studio space, and free coffee.

Presentation of Artists' Work

The Burden Artist's Guild does not require formal presentations of completed work or work-in-progress. Open Studio is encouraged for visual artists who desire a wider exposure to the community.

California Residencies

Artist's come to the Burden Artist's Guild from all over California. Artists are not required to be physically present at their residency but are required to be physically present for the mold making process of their head and hands which will be cast in wax and attached to an armarature made to the dimensions of the artist's body and used to occupy the studio space for the duration of the artist's residency. It will be the responsibility of each artist in residence to continue with the production of their own work as usual. You are encouraged to include the residency as part of your resume or cirriculum vitae.

Eligibility

The Burden Artist's Guild accepts applications from all California based visual artists. Artists at an early stage of their career, as well as established artists, are welcome to apply. The Burden Artist's Guild seeks a diversity of artists which will broaden the artistic perspectives of the community.
